Belgium Beer Week 2026 - August 24-30

Raise your glasses during the 7th edition of Belgium Beer Week 24-30 August 2026 and celebrate Belgian beer culture around the world. It’s a recognition of its UNESCO’s designation as an intangible cultural heritage of humanityFrom historic cellars in Belgium to taprooms in Tokyo, the world is turning into one giant Belgian café.

Last year, 145+ venues and guides across 16 countries—from Brazil to Japan—joined the movement. This year, organisers and Beer Idiots Ahmed ElAmin and Dieter Proost are scaling up. “We’re going bigger and bolder,” says Ahmed. “We’re making this ‘intangible’ heritage something you can truly taste, touch and experience.”

What’s Brewing?

No tickets. No borders.
There’s no “entry fee” for  Belgium Beer Week. There is no cost to participate as a bar, brewer, museum or guide. Your only passport is a passion for the craft. Simply check the BBW calendar, social media or follow your favourite local bar to find an event near you.

Belgium Beer Week is organised by Beer Idiots vzw and supported by Visit Flanders, the Brussels-Capital Region, BBW’s ambassadors and participating bars, brewers, guides and beer museums.

This is more than a festival—it’s a global toast to Belgian beer culture.

Over 145 participants co-created Belgium Beer Week in 2025 in Belgium, Austria, Brazil, Chile, China, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Paraguay, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Participants list their events on BBW’s calendar and on social media. Visitors to the venues and events can join in the spirit and celebrate the traditional and the new in bars, breweries, beer museums by themselves or with a guide.

“It’s always a wonderful surprise to see the types of innovative events that  participants deliver for Belgium Beer Week,” said Dieter.

He added: “Belgium beer culture is recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This year we look forward to providing an amazing series of events showcasing this incredibly rich culture and making it more tangible for visitors.”

How it works: Belgium Beer Week is organised by Beer Idiots vzw, a non-profit based in Belgium that publishes news and information on beer culture (www.idiots.beer).
